This recipe uses ground almonds, flour and flaxseed as a base. You can vary the herbs according to taste, and it’s also great to add in sunblushed tomatoes and /or black olives. Delicious with crudités and one of our recommended dips.

Loose almonds and flax seeds


  • 100g ground flaxseed, 50g mixed seeds (omega mix), 100g ground almonds
  • ½ tea spoon sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh herbs of choice (parsley, rosemary, basil)
  • 1 egg


Place ground almonds, seeds and flaxseed in blender with salt and herbs. Add egg, and combine to make a dough. Press it between 2 sheets of parchment paper. Take off top layer and place it on a baking sheet.

Slice the dough into squares. Bake at 160 degrees gas mark 4 for 15 mins till turning golden. Leave to cool before taking off baking sheet.
